Water Treatment:

Specialist for the production of a Standard Design (ie “Signature Design”) for Montgomery Watson Harza (MWH) for the receipt, storage, handling and discharging of bulk chemicals, which are used in the treatment of water at their various sites for United Utilities in the UK. The main chemicals for the “Signature Design” were Caustic and Sulphuric Acid delivered from road tankers.

Clean water projects for MWH on West Cumbria Supplies (Bridge End and Quarry Hill) and Carlisle Projects (Cumwhinton). The process for these projects comprised of chemical dosing, flocculation, coagulation, filtration (RGFs), backwashing, clarification, disinfection by chlorination, and sludge treatment. Iinputs into a number of their ongoing projects for water treatment and Plumbsolvency at various sites in the North West of the UK. Providing plant commissioning inputs to other engineers on site during plant commissioning. Jar testing to improve plant performance and for optimisation.

Treatment of offshore Produced Water for the Helvellyn and Audrey A Platforms in the Southern North Sea. Comprising design and implementation of Cyclonic separation of sand and degassing and flotation facilities for separating water from Condensate/Oil. Sampling and discharge of the produced water using booms. Design provisions for recycling boom tops for further treatment. Design compliance done in accordance with OIW requirements to OSPAR.

Produced water treatment for BHP Billington offshore facilities in Liverpool Bay utilising a similar design as Helvellyn and Audrey A Platforms in the Southern North Sea, comprising of Cyclonic separation of sand and degassing and flotation facilities for separating water from Condensate/Oil.. Sampling and discharge of the produced water using booms. Design provisions for recycling boom tops for further treatment. Design compliance done in accordance with OIW requirements to OSPAR.

Site effluent arisings design for GE Plastics, Grangemouth. Comprising production of site effluent mass mass balance. Design proposals for effluent collectiion and transfer to new sand bed filtration facilities prior to discharge to the existing effluent treatment facilities.

Design input to Severn Water for a 32 mld adsorber/filter plant including, sumps, pumps, clarifiers and settling tanks. Similar inputs to Anglian Water for their sites at Everton, Newton and Ordsall comprising of similar process.

Design of a new plant for Effluent treament for Dankuni, India. Comprising aerators, clarifiers, sludge sedimentation, sludge handling and disposal.
